Camping in the DCNF

Well, we survived the overnight camping trip to the Davy Crockett National Forest.  We saw some sights, had some fun and ate a lot of apple and cherry pie!!  And we learned some things.  Most notably is how God expects us to be stewards of the land.

In case you are interested, some pictures from the trip are located here.

Junior Camp Day 2

Day two started off with wonderful weather that continued the whole day. The kids are having a great time, so great that their favorite part must be going to bed at night.
Bro. Don had a great message about putting on what we wear in our Christian life. He took a t-shirt with messages written in flourescant ink and turned on a black light to show the things we sometimes wear (envy, disobedience, anger, etc…) and then turned it around to reveal the things we should be wearing (love, obedience, truth, etc…).
While he was speaking Lauren Dalton turned to me and said, “I wish it was that easy to put on our Christian life”, which is so true because Satan attacks us anyway that he can.

Junior Camp Day 1

Ohh what a fun day we started with! It wasn’t too hot, the lake is really full, and the service was great. The temperature has been very mild for what it should be up here which is really good for the children. The lake is as full as it has ever been so there will be no combing the beach for shells. The service was great, Bro. Don had a great message.

Take a look at some of the pictures from Day 1.

Jars – Day 5

Day 5 began with us finding out that the bus company did not plan on being here until 1 p.m.  4 hours later that what we contracted for, so as I type this we are sitting waiting on the bus.  It is now 2 p.m. and the bus driver has stopped answering his phone…

Keep your prayers going that we do indeed make it home today…

UPDATE:

Yes, we made it home…at 11:00 p.m…but we made it.  Thank you for all of your prayers and support during this week.  Now, if you wouldn’t mind…can you talk to God about the bus company?  You might ask Him to pay them a visit…:)
