Ladies Meeting

There will be a ladies meeting this Tuesday the 3rd at 7:00 p.m. for all ladies interested in attending! Come out and join us for some food, fellowship, and fun!

OLBC Fall Festival

The Ladies Ministry here at Oak Lake has decided to try something new this year for celebration of harvest time! We will be having a Fall Festival on October 28th from 1-5 here at the church! The festival will include lots of games and prizes. There will be something for children of all ages to enjoy! Some of our booths include: a mini cake walk where the winners will get cupcakes, ring toss, fishing pond, and many others! We will also be having a moonwalk for the kids to enjoy! It will be a great time for the family. We will need a lot of volunteers and candy to make this run smoothly! All of our needs are posted in the lobby! Please pray that we will be able to reach families in our area with the hope and love Christ gives us!  

BBC Day

On October 22nd, we will be having a BBC Day here at Oak Lake. During the course of the day you will learn about different projects going on at BBC, what the school is all about, and how we can help to make the school a better place for our students now and in the future! It will be a great day…don’t miss it!

Friend Day

We hope that the commitment cards we have been giving you are helping you get commitments from your friends and neighbors to be here with us for Friend Day! There is a basket in the lobby for those cards that you would like to return! Don’t forget about those prizes for the ones that bring the most friends: Texans tickets for the adults, iPod for the teens, and Incredible Pizza Gift card for the kids! What motivation!!!

Baptist Bible College

We will be having a day devoted to Baptist Bible College on October 22nd here at Oak Lake! During the course of the day you will learn about different projects going on at BBC, what the school is all about, and how we can help to make the school a better place for our students now and in the future! It will be a great day…don’t miss it!

Friend Day…Right Around the Corner!

It’s only a little over a month until Friend Day will be here! You had been told previously about different prizes in each age group for the person that brings the most friends. In order to get these prizes you must have a minimum of 3 guests with you that day! The adult that brings the most friends will receive 2 Texans football tickets! The teen who wins will receive an iPod, and the child that wins will receive a gift card to Incredible Pizza!

It’s important that you start lining up friends now! There is even a way to get them registered before that day. In the foyer are ads that ask for all of your guest’s information. Just have them fill it out and you bring it in! God is going to do some amazing things, and we are so excited to see what exactly those are!

Fall Festival

We will be having a Fall Festival on Saturday, October 28th from 1-5 in the afternoon! There is a sign up list in the lobby for our needs. This will be a great reach out to the community! Come out and watch the kids enjoy the moonwalk and gifts. If you would like to contribute, please mark your envelope “Festival”.

Chocolate Boutique

The ladies at Oak Lake will be leaving for a Ladies Retreat at Northpark Baptist Church in Humble this Friday! We would like to leave the church no later than 3:00 p.m. in order to avoid some of the afternoon traffic. If you have not paid for your hotel and retreat fee, please see Kristi Hughes or Mrs. Hill to do so! Please let us know ASAP if you would still like to attend!

Singers!!

The choir has officially begun working on the Christmas Cantata for 2006! If you are a choir member that has gone astray or someone that would like to become a member, WE NEED YOU!! The choir practices on Wednesday evenings @ 7:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoons @ 4:45 p.m. Come be a part of this very special presentation.

It is getting to be that exciting time of year again, where Oak Lake Baptist Church is challenged to reach out to others and be a good neighbor! In the coming weeks, Pastor Hill will teach us and instruct us on how to reach out to the world around us and to show them God’s love. It will all culminate on the last Sunday of the month in October with Friend Day!

If you missed the training, there will another session on September the 30th, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. The session is at Second Baptist North Campus. Please plan to attend! This will be a great opportunity to see and learn more about the AWANA program!

AWANA

A new session of AWANA begins today Sunday, the 13th, at 5:30 p.m.!! Jeff Hutchinson will be our leader, so let’s help him! This is a program for children age 3-6th grade. AWANA incorporates Bible memorization, games, prizes, and awards. Clubbers can win AWANA bucks to spend in the AWANA store. We need listeners and helpers to work with our children. We have many activities planned for the year, so bring your children today!

Teens

Our last WMD will be at Incredible Pizza this Wednesday @ 11:00 a.m. We will meet there at Incredible Pizza instead of the church. Hope to see you there!

Attention Singers!

We introduced the Christmas Cantata for this year this past Sunday! There is still plenty of time for you to join us and support the music ministry here at Oak Lake. We have practices twice a week for your convenience. Our first practice is on Sundays at 4:45 p.m. and the other practice is on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Come out and join us for one of them!

VBS

VBS begins tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM! We have a good program lined up, so invite your neighbors and friends and bring a carload. We still need helpers with the children, kitchen help, and food donations. There will be puppets and many other activities. We will also have our annual penny offering between the boys and girls! A list is on the foyer table of our needs.

Attention Singers!
