The choir will be presenting their Christmas cantata, “He Came to Us”, on December 17th at 5:30 p.m.! The choir has been working diligently since September on this and it is sure to be a blessing! This is a great opportunity to invite friends and family to spend the evening with you! Plan to be there to hear some wonderful Christmas music!

Candle Light Service

IMPORTANT!! Service Schedule Change!

Don’t forget that we are combining both of our services for the Christmas Season. Sunday School will now begins at 9:00 a.m. and our Morning Worship Service begins at 10:15 a.m.! This will be a great time to be together as a church family in our worship! In addition, Sunday evening activities will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the AWANAs and at 5:30 p.m. for our Youth and Worship/Bible Study.

“Candle in the Window”

Tickets are on sale now for our annual Christmas Banquet here at Oak Lake! The banquet will be on December 8 at 7:00 p.m. The price of each ticket is $10.00 per adult/teenager and you can purchase them from Lynn Fussell, Sandra Heerssen, and Erma Harvill. Don’t delay! It’s only a few weeks away! We want everyone in our neighborhood to know they are welcome at our church and that Jesus is welcome in our hearts as well! Join us in putting a candle in the window of your home, would you?

Christmas is Coming!

Christmas is coming! It’s time to start thinking about your gift to Jesus! It is His birthday, so let’s not leave Him off of our Christmas list! He deserves our very best! We are making some much needed repairs on our buildings, so your offering is very much needed and appreciated!

Oak Lake Members,
We would like to remind you of a few things that will be happening this weekend at Our Church.

1. This Saturday is our Fall Festival that will be used to reach out to our community with free games and prizes for our kids.  If you have volunteered to work, please come early so that we can be ready for those who come to participate.  The time for the Fall Festival will be from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

2. This weekend is the time we must change our clocks again.  On Saturday night, turn your clocks back an hour so you will be on time on Sunday morning.  For example if your clock says 10:00 p.m., it will need to be changed to 9:00 p.m. before you go to bed.

3.  Sunday will be our annual Friend Day with a meal served after the morning service.

• PLEASE NOTE!  We will not be having our usual early service (8:30) as this will allow more time for everyone to prepare for the noon meal.
• PLEASE NOTE ALSO!  We will only be having ONE service which will begin at 9:45 a.m.
• We will have a special service packed with lots of music.  We want to make this service Very Special.  We have invited several guests who will be participating in our music program.
• I hope you are inviting your friends to join us for this special occasion.
• After the service, there will be lunch served in the fellowship hall.
• Please let your guests know about our times for this Sunday so that they don’t walk into the middle of a service and are caught unaware.

Time Change!

It’s TIME for a TIME CHANGE!. Yes, it’s time to set our clocks back 1 hour. Before you go to bed Saturday night, set your clocks so that you will be on time for Friend Day. Friend Day would not be the same without you!

Thanksgiving Celebration

We want to celebrate Thanksgiving together as a church family on Sunday, November the 19th, after the morning services. Make plans now to be with us! Also watch for a sign up sheet in the lobby in the coming weeks!

Christmas is Coming!

Christmas is coming! It’s time to start thinking about your gift to Jesus! It is His birthday, so let’s not leave Him off of our Christmas list! He deserves our very best! More details later!

Friend Day is Next Week!!!

Yes it’s finally here! The day we have been waiting for! Oak Lake Baptist Church will be having their annual Friend Day next Sunday October 29th! We hope that you are still inviting friends to come and be with you for that day! We will have a musical Sunday School beginning at 9:45 AM, and will combine for one worship service beginning at 10:45 AM. Remember that your friends must be here for both Sunday School & Worship in order to count towards the awards. Don’t forget to sign up in the lobby to bring something for the meal! Let’s pack the place next Sunday!

This would also be a great opportunity to get some new friends to come with you for Friend Day which is the following day. We are also in need of a few other items. We hope that the commitment cards we have been giving you are helping you get commitments from your friends and neighbors to be here with us for Friend Day! There is a basket in the lobby for those cards that you would like to return! Don’t forget about those prizes for the ones that bring the most friends….Texans tickets for the adults, IPOD for the teens, and Incredible Pizza Gift card for the kids! What motivation!!!

 

All Nighter/Youth Rally in Katy

The teens at OLBC will be attending a Youth Rally at Central Baptist in Katy on October 20th. They are in need of drivers to help transport about 40 kids to and from the event. The cost is $15.00 per teen and that includes their meal for the night and any other expenses. The teens have been motivated by Bro. Tim to bring a lot of friends, as this would be a great way to get their friends exposed to the gospel! The teen that brings the most friends to the Youth Rally will gain a gift card from the First Colony Mall for $75.00!! If you are able to drive or have any questions, please see Tim Hughes!

BBC Day

On October 22nd, we will be having a BBC Day here at Oak Lake. During the course of the day you will learn about different projects going on at BBC, what the school is all about, and how we can help to make the school a better place for our students now and in the future! It will be a great day…don’t miss it!

There will be a ladies meeting this Tuesday the 3rd at 7:00 p.m. for all ladies interested in attending! Come out and join us for some food, fellowship, and fun!

OLBC Fall Festival

The Ladies Ministry here at Oak Lake has decided to try something new this year for celebration of harvest time! We will be having a Fall Festival on October 28th from 1-5 here at the church! The festival will include lots of games and prizes. There will be something for children of all ages to enjoy! Some of our booths include: a mini cake walk where the winners will get cupcakes, ring toss, fishing pond, and many others! We will also be having a moonwalk for the kids to enjoy! It will be a great time for the family. We will need a lot of volunteers and candy to make this run smoothly! All of our needs are posted in the lobby! Please pray that we will be able to reach families in our area with the hope and love Christ gives us!
