Funeral service for Pastor Hill was held on May 14th.

It is with great sorrow that the Oak Lake Baptist Church family annouces the passing of our pastor, Rev. Jess Hill. Our sorrow is tempered by the rejoicing of knowing that Pastor is now with his Lord & Savior. All of our thoughts and prayers are with his beloved wife Lorna, their children and grandchildren.
Here are details concerning memorial and funeral services:

December is a busy month around here. Please plan to participate in any or all of our events this month. See you there!

October 7th at 7 p.m., the ladies will be holding their monthly meeting here at the church.
Friday October 10th, the youth will meet here at the church then travel over to Sugar Creek Baptist Church for a concert featuring Building 429, Addison Road and After Edmond. Be here by 6 p.m.
Saturday, October 11th will be a work day here at the church. There is still a lot of debris that needs to be cleaned up after the hurricane. Please plan to be here to help.
Tuesday, October 21st will be the first monthly craft night sponsored by our ladies group. Bring your knitting, cross-stitching, crocheting, needle point, painting, scrapbooking, jewelry making or whatever you do, and join the fun! If you want to learn a craft, we will try our best to help you. Drinks will be supplied. Please bring a snack to share.
October 26th will be Friend Day, so invite your friends or come and be our friend. We will have lunch here at the church and after lunch we will have a special time of singing and anything else we can think of. Plan on being here, you don’t want to miss it.
As an outreach to our community we will be conducting a Trunk or Treat night. Bring your vehicle with your trunk decorated for the fall season and plenty of candy to hand out to the young and young at heart
For further information on any of these events, please contact the church office.
Well, if you’ve been wondering, yes we did indeed have a visit from Ike. Hurricane Ike that is.
The majority of damage experienced here at the church has been in the form of oak tree limbs. LOTS and LOTS of tree limbs!! One set of large limbs completely missed a power line and transformer that sets next to the tree.
Given that we now have power at the church (subject to disruptions of course), our plan is to have our regular Sunday schedule in the morning. If you plan to join us, please bring your work clothes as we will begin cleaning up around here after lunch. If it is unsafe for you to travel to the church, please remain where you are and join us at a later date.
As for services Sunday night, we will wait and see how tonight and tomorrow morning go and make a determination then.
Our juniors load up for a week at Texoma Baptist Youth Camp near Sherman next Sunday! The cost is $140.00 which includes room and board, transportation, meals while traveling, and a great time for our juniors! The ages are 8 years old through the 5th grade.
