This week we have a guest speaker. Bro. Joe Schmidt is with us this week to lead our Vacation Bible School and this morning he brought the Sunday message.
In addition, Bro. Schmidt gave us some illustrations as to what the body of believers, the church, is all about. He did this prior to our baptismal services.

Our watermelon concert consists of watermelon and Mark Chaney! Mark has a great voice and has been with us before. This is planned for Sunday evening, July the 1st at 5:30 p.m.
Due to the July 4th holiday, our Wednesday night activities are being moved to Tuesday, July 3rd.
Saturday, July 14th is our next all church work day. Please plan on helping as there is lots of work that needs to be done around here.
Our junior youth will be leaving of Texoma Youth Camp on July 22nd. Contact the church office for more information or better yet, why not plan to go with with them! You won’t regret it.
Day 5 began with us finding out that the bus company did not plan on being here until 1 p.m. 4 hours later that what we contracted for, so as I type this we are sitting waiting on the bus. It is now 2 p.m. and the bus driver has stopped answering his phone…
Keep your prayers going that we do indeed make it home today…
UPDATE:
Yes, we made it home…at 11:00 p.m…but we made it. Thank you for all of your prayers and support during this week. Now, if you wouldn’t mind…can you talk to God about the bus company? You might ask Him to pay them a visit…:)
Day 4 of youth camp saw more of the same kind of weather. After the storms last night, the sky was overcast and again, thankfully, it was not as hot as it could be. And it didn’t rain during the day…
We had fun with a water ballon contest which involved using a large slingshot, water balloons and very good aim. OLBC tied with Bible Baptist and we were forced into a dance off. Praises to Clint and his posse for winning yet another one for us.
God used Bro. Joe to challenge us to be unlikely heros. This last night of camp, God has given us all some things to think about.
Pictures from day 4 are here, Jars - Day 4.
Before the storms of the evening moved in on us, we had some fun. In the morning there was the “Stupid Talent” show. To kick the show off was our very own Tim and Oliver doing what they thought were impersonations of characters from King of the Hill.Â
In the afternoon we played in round 1 of the softball tournament. We had good hits and our infield kept their gloves in the air even when a ball was not in play. (Look at the pictures). One young man from Bible Baptist Church learned what it meant to face OLBC in softball. He’s ok, but just between us, he’s milking his ‘injury’ for all the sympathy he can get (especially from the girls!).
In the evening service, Bro. Joe talked about All Stars. Specifically the three children of God that were thrown into the firey furnace. Due to the wind blowing in off the storm, Bro. Joe did not have any problem getting everyone to huddle up around the fire he built to represent the furnace.
We hope you enjoy the pictures here, Jars - Day 3. More to follow!
The weather so far this week at camp has been WET! No doubt! However, at no time has the weather threaten our safety or the safety of the campground. Everyone has been safe and sound. Unless you count the time that Tim almost got hit by a softball…
The storms that made national news Sunday night occured AFTER we arrived at camp. The storms Wednesday night impacted us by making Bro. Joe close the service early. After that we stayed in the tabernacle watching a movie instead of playing a volleyball tournament.
At no time has the weather threaten us with anything other than very heavy rain. Your prayers for our safety are working. We have had cool weather for camp which is unheard of and for which we all are very grateful. It’s usually so hot here you can barely stand it.
Please continue to prayer for the campers and counselors and that God will continue His work here at camp.
Day 2 of camp dawned…drier…
We had good weather most of the day. The game show for the day had something to do with who can eat the most disgusting thing. The list is too disgusting to post, you’ll just have to see some of the pictures. Later in the day, Bro. Joe taught us that things aren’t as they appear or never take ice cream from a preacher.
Bro. Joe brought two good messages; one in the morning and one in the evening. Praise God! 21 young people came forward to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Some pictures for you are here, Jars Day 2.
The theme for Sr. Camp this year is ‘Jars’. We got a late start, but we made to Lake Texhoma safe and sound. We were not involved in any flooding or bad road issues. Thanks for all the prayers for a safe trip.
Monday dawned bright and, well, wet. The stuff you see in the pictures is not from the sprinklers…it’s all from the sky. We managed to invent a new game…Water Volleyball.
Later in the day, Tim thought he had won a hundred dollars. Look at the pictures to see what he really won!
Please continue to pray for all of the youth from all of the churchs here at camp. God wants to work, we need to let him.
More will follow…but follow this link, Jars - Day 1, to see some pictures.
In celebration of Father’s Day, Pastor Hill takes a look at Joshua, a choosy father.
