AWANA

Awana Leaders

There will be two training sessions for AWANA workers on Saturday, September the 9th or September the 30th, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. One session is at Sagemont Church and the other at Second Baptist North Campus. Plan to attend one of these meetings!

Ladies

A new session of Bible study will begin on Wednesday, September the 6th, at 9:45 a.m. and also Saturday morning, September the 9th, at 8:00 a.m. here at the church. Please contact Karen Wyborny for more information. All ladies are welcome!

Chocolate Boutique

The ladies at our church have been invited to attend the North Park Baptist Church Ladies’ Retreat, September 29th and 30th. The cost is $30.00 for the retreat plus hotel accommodations. If you are interested, please see Kristi Hughes. There is a Sign Up Sheet in the lobby, for those wishing to attend.

LIFE

The teenagers will be starting a new program on Sunday Nights coming soon! More details to follow in the weeks to come!

AWANA

A new session of AWANA begins today Sunday, the 13th, at 5:30 p.m.!! Jeff Hutchinson will be our leader, so let’s help him! This is a program for children age 3-6th grade. AWANA incorporates Bible memorization, games, prizes, and awards. Clubbers can win AWANA bucks to spend in the AWANA store. We need listeners and helpers to work with our children. We have many activities planned for the year, so bring your children today!

Teens

Attention Singers!

We introduced the Christmas Cantata for this year this past Sunday! There is still plenty of time for you to join us and support the music ministry here at Oak Lake. We have practices twice a week for your convenience. Our first practice is on Sundays at 4:45 p.m. and the other practice is on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Come out and join us for one of them!

VBS report

Be Strong and Courageous

This was the theme for this years VBS! The children learned what it was to be strong and courageous through many different object lessons and illusions and through learning Joshua 1:9! David Hill and volunteers from the Children’s Ministry at Metropolitan Baptist Church came and taught the children and many were saved. Their favorite parts were: the big balloon that Pastor Gene fit 15 kids in not including himself, the new music that they learned and all of the motions to each one, and the various illusions and illustrations that were used to give the gospel message!  It was a great week of VBS!
