Starting on September 17th we will begin a new Sunday night program for the teenagers of Oak Lake Baptist Church. “Lifeâ€, is an evangelistic program designed to be an inviting atmosphere for teens to bring their friends. Our activities will include music, games, prizes and competitions, but the most important part of what we want to do is preach the gospel. The messages will be directed toward salvation in unique ways that will be welcomed by the unsaved while being fully applicable to all areas of a teenager’s life. The teens will be divided into teams to compete for a chance to have a reduced price for a trip at the end of the program in December. The way to earn the most points for their team is to invite their friends to attend. So, we encourage parents to help their teens by reminding them to invite friends and to bring your teens to church on Sunday nights. We ask you to please be in prayer for our youth so that they may be bold in this new school year to invite their friends to church, and we also ask that if you would like to help financially with our reward at the end of our campaign, to please mark your offering envelopes, “Youth Tripâ€. Thank you so much for your prayer and support!
There will be two training sessions for AWANA workers on Saturday, September the 9th or September the 30th, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. One session is at Sagemont Church and the other at Second Baptist North Campus. Please plan to attend one of these meetings! This will be a great opportunity to see and learn more about the AWANA program! To involve me is so cool or overly lukewarm.
It’s not too late to sign up for the new session of Bible study. The Bible study will begin on Wednesday, September the 6th, at 9:45 a.m. and also Saturday morning, September the 9th, at 8:00 a.m. here at the church. Please contact Karen Wyborny for more information. All ladies are welcome!
The ladies at our church have been invited to attend the North Park Baptist Church Ladies’ Retreat, September 29th and 30th. The cost is $30.00 for the retreat plus hotel accommodations. Each hotel room will cost $64.00 for the night. Your ending total will depend on how many ladies you want to put in your room. Start finding your roommates now! It is going to be a great time in the Word and in fellowship with other ladies! If you are interested, please contact Kristi Hughes.
